Individuals and organizations are free to suggest pre-conferences that will take place before OFFSEAS 2026.

We welcome proposals from everyone, including vendors and service providers. Pre-conference workshops should offer an in-depth exploration of topics aimed at enhancing skills and knowledge as well as certifications.

Please note that space for pre-conference sessions is limited, and you may be contacted for additional information if we decide to move forward.

Key Details:

  • Pre conferences could be 1, 2 or 3 days
  • Pre-conference operators can suggest the price they wish to offer, OFFSEAS organizers will factor in a 35% admin fee for handing registrations.
  • Pre-conferences hosted at providers facilities should factor in F&B and and any transport costs into the price
  • If pre-conferences are hosted at the school campus (facilities permitting) OFFSEAS organizers will add F&B costs to the fee and these will not be factored into the revenue share
  • OFFSEAS organizer will conduct post event survey and results will be shared with the provider
  • Registration fees will be collected by OFFSEAS organizers and passed to the provider at the conclusion of the workshop.
  • Providers will receive a free conference registration for each person involved in running pre-conference (up to maximum of 2 per pre-conference)
  • Providers will specify minimum numbers for workshops to run and maximums.
  • OFFSEAS will share any professional photos taken at the workshop, and the provider will commit to provide any photos they take to OFFSEAS for marketing and community building purposes.

 Learn essential survival techniques like building shelters, finding water, and starting fires in the wild.

Master map reading, compass use, and GPS navigation in outdoor settings.

Teach principles of sustainable outdoor ethics and environmental stewardship.

Gain skills in group dynamics, decision-making, and conflict resolution in outdoor settings.

Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks in outdoor education programs.

Methods for mentoring and empowering young leaders in outdoor programs.

Strategies for incorporating climate science and sustainability into outdoor education.

Safety systems, belaying, and group management for climbing programs.

Water safety, paddling techniques, and leading aquatic adventures.

Essentials of trip planning, packing, and leading multi-day expeditions.

Techniques, trail safety, and leading group rides.

Teach mindfulness practices in nature to improve mental health and focus.

Build coping strategies and resilience through nature-based activities

Create engaging and effective learning plans for outdoor programs.

 Integrate tools like GPS, drones, and apps into outdoor teaching.

Ensure inclusivity and respect for diverse cultural perspectives in outdoor programs.

 

Life-saving skills tailored for outdoor environments.

Specific certifications for paddling and water-based activities.

 

Pre or Post Conference workshops can be signed up for in addition to the main conference to enrich your experience or independently of the main conference.
