Pierre Echaubard
Pierre is the Founder and Executive Director of NatureMind-ED a research-based social enterprise based in Southern Thailand. Creative, bold and passionate, his objective is to advance knowledge, communicate innovations and contribute to transformative education at the interface between Ecology & Society. He holds a PhD in Ecology and Sustainability from Canada and has coordinated and taught Ecology, Sustainability, Permaculture and holistic health workshops and courses throughout the Southeast Asian region. Pierre has more than 15 years experience practicing and teaching mindfulness-based activities, such as Rock-climbing & Slack lining, Freediving and Mindful breathing as well as regularly leads Nature Therapy sessions. He also leads grass root community-based ecosystem restoration projects in Southern Thailand where he has been based with his wife and two daughters for the last 10 years. These projects involve 1) nature awareness and outdoor leadership activities with local school children, families and individuals, 2) community-based biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration, and 3) practical sustainability consulting with a focus on designing sustainability education curricula, sustainable management plans as well as ecological landscape design for a diverse range of partners and clients.
