As indoor climbing continues to rise in popularity, the need for qualified instructors has never been greater. This Climbing Wall Instructor certification course, by the Climbing Wall Association (CWA), prepares you to effectively instruct and manage climbing activities in a safe and professional manner.

Whether you are a seasoned climber or looking to enhance your skills, this course will provide you with essential knowledge and practical experience in areas such as:

  • Equipment and facility inspection
  • Client orientation and instruction
  • Teaching top rope skills
  • Teaching lead skills (optional)
  • Bouldering and spotting
  • Emergency procedures

Certification Levels:

Co-Founder and CEO of Progression (formerly Chiang Mai Rock Climbing Adventures), Josh leads a multicultural team of over 35 staff from Asia, Europe, and the U.S. After living in Thailand for more than 25 years, he is fluent in Thai, allowing Josh to work across cultures seamlessly. His rescue training ultimately led him to coordinate the international team during the 2018 Thai Cave Rescue. Today, he uses his leadership to drive growth for individuals, companies, and institutions.

Director of Technical Operations and Risk Management at Progression

Director of Technical Operations and Risk Management at Progression, Mario has been with the organization for over 19 years. He played a critical role in the command center during the Thai Cave Rescue, helping design rope system strategies. At Progression, he draws on his expertise in technical rope work, outdoor facilitation, wilderness medicine, and climbing instruction to create impactful courses and programs.
