Dear [Approval’s Name],

I am writing to request your approval to attend the OFFSEAS 2027conference, which will be held at British School Jakarta, Indonesia from 24-25 April 2027.

A little bit of background about OFFSEAS – OFFSEAS was started in 2011 by a collective of outdoor education educators from international schools across South East Asia. Driven by a shared vision to connect, learn, and exchange best practices, this passionate group of educators established OFFSEAS as a platform for advancing the field of outdoor and experiential learning in the region.

Over the past decade, OFFSEAS has evolved into the must-attend annual gathering for outdoor education professionals throughout Southeast Asia. The conference brings together an engaged community of educators, school leaders, activity providers, and industry experts to build connections, drive innovation, and redefine the very boundaries of outdoor learning.

Through an agenda packed with inspiring keynotes, interactive workshops, and enriching networking opportunities, OFFSEAS empowers its participants to unlock new possibilities and deliver transformative learning experiences for students across the region.

The details for the upcoming event are still coming together but information on the previous event in Kuala Lumpur gives you a good sense of what to expect:

  • 350+ attendees from 16 countries for the four days of pre-conference workshop and main conference days
  • Close to 60 sessions of in-person sharing, including pre-conference workshops, two days of main conference sessions, and post-conference workshop.
  • 50+ international experts spoke at #OFFSEAS26. We’ve welcomed outdoor & experiential learning experts from all across the globe, this includes speakers from China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, UAE, USA, UK and Vietnam.
  • Close to 100 hours of professional learning over the OFFSEAS week (pre-conference and main conference days). Talk about the continuous learning opportunities for educators!

I believe that attending this conference would be a valuable professional development opportunity for me. I would have the opportunity to learn from some of the world’s leading educators, and I would be able to bring back new ideas and strategies that I could use in my classroom.

Here is a quick breakdown of the costs to cover our attendance to the conference as a team of three (or more):

  1. For the Main Conference: From $350USD (group discounts available)
  2. For the pre-conference workshops: TBD (for reference, tickets for one-day workshop usually cost about $250USD – $350USD depending on nature of workshop)
  3. Hotel Costs: $115USD per night (DoubleTree by Hilton Jakarta Bintaro Jaya)
  4. Flights: Google flights search
  5. Estimated travel costs: (below for reference)

I appreciate your consideration of my request. Thank you for your time and attention.
