Off-Site Safety for School Trip Leaders and Designated Contacts
We train educators in curriculum, safeguarding and first aid… Therefore, good practice would be to ensure staff are trained in running off-site trips
Lessons learned dealing with real incidents on trips make it very clear that the pressures put on schools during a trip emergency can be extreme but the burden is significantly less if staff have been specifically trained.
This not only includes the trip leaders & assistants, but also the “base/designated contacts”.
This one day training is a practically based course which deals with active risk management and allows the sharing of good practice together with opportunities to raise issues directly related to your setting.
