Pre-conference Workshop

An immersive pre-conference workshop to become a Level 2 American Canoe Association Kayak Instructor. 

This workshop offers valuable insights and hands-on training to not only elevate your kayaking experience but to also allow you to safely lead and support students in your setting.

Whether you’re a seasoned paddler looking to share your passion or a newcomer eager to learn, this course will equip you well to become a more proficient paddler and instructor.

    Participants will develop effective teaching techniques and strategies to convey kayaking skills and knowledge to students confidently.

Who Should Attend? 

This training course is predominantly aimed at educators who plan, evaluate risk, and lead, assist or attend school kayaking in an international setting.
The course would also benefit outdoor education providers in Asia who are looking to upskill staff and to gain an internationally recognised accreditation.

Previous Knowledge 

No previous qualifications are required in order to attend this course; however, it is beneficial if participants have some form of kayaking experience.
In order to achieve certification participants must have a valid first aid certification.

Candidates will be guided over the course of 3 days. from 8 am to 5 pm

Hailing from Northern Ireland, Rob has both studied and worked within the field of education and outdoor education for the past 20 years. With a strong background in a number of outdoor activity disciplines Rob has a wealth of experience in leading participants of all ages and abilities in a variety of challenging environments, including multi-day expeditions. Rob has worked in a number of countries including the UK, USA, China, Korea and now Thailand where his Role as Director of Outdoor Education has him lead a Nursery – Grade 12 outdoor program and overseeing the development of the schools new bespoke Outdoor Education Centre.
