About Ajeet

Ajeet Bajaj is an adventurer and explorer and is one of the few in the world to have completed the Explorer’s Grand Slam, which entails skiing to the North Pole & the South Pole as well as climbing the Seven Summits, i.e., the highest mountain on every continent. Ajeet scaled Mount Everest with his daughter Deeya on May 16, 2018, becoming the first Indian child-parent duo to have accomplished this. They are also the first parent-child team in the world to have climbed Mount Everest from the North side of Tibet.

Ajeet is the first Indian to have completed the Polar Trilogy, which entails skiing to the North Pole, to the South Pole, and skiing across the Greenland icecap. He is also the first Asian to have rafted and kayaked some of the most challenging rivers of the world spanning six continents. Ajeet has won a bronze medal in the Indian national games for kayaking and one silver and two bronze medals in international rafting competitions in Switzerland and Russia. He captained the international team for world white water rafting championships in Turkey in 1994.

Ajeet has done a number of first descents of rivers and is considered a pioneer of river rafting, kayaking, expedition skiing, and sea kayaking in India. Ajeet has had the proud privilege of conducting fifty courses and expeditions for the Indian Armed Forces, including Special Forces, in river rafting and white water kayaking down some of the most turbulent rivers in India. Ajeet has qualified as a mountaineering instructor from ENSA, French National School of Skiing and Alpinism, and is a PADI-certified rescue diver.

Ajeet is the founder and Managing Director of Snow Leopard Adventures Pvt. Ltd., a four-time National Tourism Award-winning organization. Ajeet has served as a member of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, a United Nations World Tourism Organisation. Ajeet was Chairperson of the Camping Policy & Caravan Tourism Policy for the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. Ajeet is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and Fellow, Aspen Global Leadership Network.

Ajeet was invited to participate in the Champions of Change Event with the Prime Minister of India in August 2017. Ajeet is the President of the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) and was instrumental in setting up the adventure tourism safety guidelines for the country. Ajeet Bajaj was educated at The Lawrence School, Sanawar, and St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. Ajeet Bajaj was conferred the Padma Shri in 2012 by the President of India. He has also been felicitated with the ‘Hall of Fame’ award by the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India and the ‘Hall of Fame’ by the “Indian Association of Tour Operators.”

Till date, Ajeet has conducted over 500 motivational talks for government agencies, corporate houses, and educational institutions.
