Partners in Purpose: Aligning Schools and Service Providers Around Experiential Learning

At the American International School Chennai, Discover India involves 16 student trips, multiple faculty teams, and numerous external service providers. Although the program was already strong, the introduction of the school’s new CORE (its mission, vision, values, and Vision for a Learner) created an opportunity to build greater purpose and coherence across the program. In this interactive session, we will share our redesign process, practical tools, successes, challenges, and ongoing areas for growth. Participants will consider how their own programs can align more intentionally with school values and how schools and service providers can move from transactional planning toward genuine partnership.
About Riedwaan
Riedwaan Kader is the Secondary Associate Principal for Student Life at the American International School Chennai. His work includes experiential learning, student leadership, school culture, and the design of meaningful student experiences across Grades 6–12. He leads and supports programs including Discover India, Week Without Walls, service learning, and student leadership initiatives. He was worked in varies teaching and leadership roles in South Africa, Kuwait, Chile and India.
About Balajee
Balajee Ginjapalle is an Experiential Learning Coordinator for the American International School With over 13 years of experience, he facilitates taking learning to the great outdoors, executing programs that supplement classroom learning round the year. As a program coordinator he brings a practical perspective to experiential learning that is grounded in real operational challenges.
