Missing Person – Role Play Training

Drawing closely on a real missing person case, for a highly realistic role play.
Duration: 60 minutes
Venue: Conference venue, e.g., a school. Any possible way to use some outdoor areas – a tactile, outdoor setting is better than a classroom/indoors.
OVERVIEW
Aim: Experiential training of OE professionals, facilitators and accompanying teachers responsible for groups outdoors. An in-depth immersion in a genuine, real-world missing person situation and it’s effective management (including proximate and wider issues, impact and repercussions).
Scenario: A missing person training drawing on details from a real incident. Up to 4 groups, each of 4-6 participants, to tackle the scenario under close facilitation. If access allows, we can use suitable outdoor areas within the conference venue.
Effectiveness: Highly realistic, as a real scenario and participants role-play is used. Real-time decisions, delegation and situation management are required. Choices and responses made will determine the outcome. Highly relevant to anyone who is in loco parentis or otherwise has responsibility in the outdoors.
Format: Time divided equally between role play and debrief (with detailed reflection and discussion). If time allows, I typically touch on the legal and crisis management aspects (given my legal background).
Methodology: A role play that is either fully indoors or partially using the conference facility permitted outdoor spaces, for scenarios. Facilitated solving of missing person scenarios, with role-playing by each participant and facilitator. Realism is created by the facilitator responding to the measures/action steps selected and revealing the outcomes and success of each, under a time. A “Detailed Rundown” document is available on request that provides the details.
We enjoy delivering this highly realistic training described above, which gets good feedback and so we really hope it finds favour. We are happy to answer questions in writing or via video link.
